Industrial history and significance
Higher Bojewyan is a good example of the expansion and subsequent contraction of an old agricultural settlement affected by the mining boom in a period of less than fifty years. Bojewyan Stennack is one of the best examples of a completely industrial settlement, with unique connections with late tin streaming; the Portherras Valley floor at Stennack is an important and archaeologically sensitive area.
This settlement forms part of the proposed Cornwall & west Devon Mining Landscape World Heritage Site Bid, and is considered an important part of the context for the Bid.
